Kathamndu: The regions of Koshi and Bagmati provinces are anticipated to experience significant rainfall today, as reported by the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, Weather Forecasting Division.

In the afternoon and evening hours, heavy downpours are likely to occur in these two provinces, while the remaining provinces can expect light to moderate rain. Despite the monsoon's low-pressure system approaching the country, its impact is subdued due to weak monsoon winds.

At present, rain accompanied by thunderstorms is already underway in various areas of Gandaki, Koshi, Bagmati, and Karnali provinces. Additionally, isolated instances of rainfall are observed in 1-2 locations within the Karnali province.

As the day progresses, the weather is anticipated to exhibit partial to general changes across the country. Furthermore, mountainous regions and other areas will encounter light to moderate precipitation.

As night falls, Koshi, Madhes, and Gandaki are expected to experience rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning. Similarly, 1-2 locations in the remaining provinces could also witness such weather conditions.

Considering the possibility of erratic weather patterns in diverse regions, the Weather Forecasting Division has issued a safety advisory, urging individuals to stay vigilant and take necessary precautions.
